I have enjoyed going here for years . The section is not as good as it once was , but it is ok . Here is a up date 8/24/22 ,went to get some fall plants was very pleased with their selection . You can tell at this time they are winding down for the season , were very helpful . Just to let you know I bought ba number of plants and found that they were rather pot bound, if you make sure you are ready and able to plant as soon as you get home. 😉

About Cal's Garden Center

With more than 60 years of experience, Cal’s Garden Center in the Minneapolis suburb, Savage, strives to provide our customers with a unique and educational gardening experience.

Cal’s Garden Center is a family owned and operated garden center founded by Cal Chadwick in 1961 and has continued to serve loyal customers for over 60 years. Cal had grown up growing and selling sweet corn with his father, and he followed that passion by opening Cal’s Market. Cal's daughter, Carina Peterson and her husband, Bryan Peterson took over and continued the family growing tradition. After successful operation for several years, Carina and Bryan sold the business to Asim Syed and Aslam Jamal, an immigrant, and entrepreneurs. Cal’s Garden Center remains a trusted partner and well-respected brand in the Savage community with familiar faces and friendly staff and continues to offer a careful selection of high-quality products that customers have come to expect from Cal’s. New owners and staff are working tirelessly to give a fresh look and improve the customer’s shopping experience yet keep the legacy of the founders.

Cal’s Garden Center is dedicated to serving Savage and neighborhood communities. Cal’s Garden offers a full nursery of trees, shrubs, evergreens, perennials and tropical along with seasonal selections including Christmas Trees. Starting this year, Cal’s has started offering a wide selection of Ball & Burlap trees and installation services. Cal's Garden Centre is commited to having a positive impact in all that we do.

Eating bee-pollinated fruits and vegetables keeps us healthy. Yet bees themselves are not as healthy as they use to be. In fact, populations are in decline in Minnesota and nationally. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to help bee populations. Plant bee-friendly plants and reduce pesticide use. University of Minnesota Extension has maintained an internationally recognized honey bee program since 1918. Marla Spivak, professor and Extension entomologist, recommends two steps for better bee health this growing season.
